Scope of Work:
This renovation project focused on rejuvenating the home’s main staircase and hallway, combining craftsmanship, precision, and modern refinishing techniques. The work included stair reconstruction, new hardwood flooring installation, and drywall restoration, transforming the entrance into a refined and durable focal point of the home.

Staircase Rebuild:

• The existing staircase was stripped, repaired, and refinished with solid oak treads and custom-milled risers, providing both structural integrity and timeless aesthetic appeal.
• Each tread was stained in a deep espresso finish and sealed with a high-durability polyurethane coating for longevity and protection against daily wear.
• The railing system was restored and detailed, with the spindles sanded, primed, and painted to complement the new stain tones.
• Careful attention was given to consistent tread spacing, edge alignment, and smooth transitions to the upper and lower levels.

Flooring Installation:

• Installed matching hardwood flooring in the main hallway to create a seamless flow between the staircase and adjacent rooms.
• Subfloor preparation included levelling, underlayment installation, and perimeter expansion joints to prevent future movement or creaking.
• The finish selection was chosen to complement the staircase and enhance natural light reflection along the corridor.

Drywall & Paintwork:

• Damaged wall sections were repaired and skim-coated to achieve a flawless surface.
• New drywall and corner bead installations were completed along the stairway and hallway, followed by a full prime and two coats of premium interior paint.
• Final detailing included fresh baseboard and crown moulding touch-ups, completing the clean, modern look.

Finishing Details:
The completed space features a rich contrast of dark-stained wood and neutral walls, balancing warmth with elegance. Each element — from the handrail to the floor — was restored to create a cohesive design that enhances both the aesthetic and resale value of the home.
